In 2025, I made the most significant leap of my life — not just as a designer, but as a man reclaiming a legacy. Born to Angolan parents from Huila and Benguela and raised across cultural lines, I always felt like I lived between worlds. Angola gave me spirit. But the global fashion landscape gave me something different — a challenge. A gap I couldn’t ignore.

I launched 244 not to chase trends, but to redefine what fashion could mean for those of us who carry heritage in our bones. Too often, I saw luxury being reduced to logos — loud symbols, stripped of soul. But for me, luxury isn’t something you flaunt. It’s something you feel — through craftsmanship, through culture, through intention.

What 244 Stands For

“244” is Angola’s international dialing code, yes — but it’s also a spiritual signal. In angelic numerology, 244 means you are protected, guided, and never alone. That’s the heartbeat of our brand. At 244 Angels at Heart, we believe everyone has an inner light — a sacred identity waiting to be seen and celebrated. Our mission is simple:

The Problems I Saw in the Market

When I studied the industry, I noticed three core issues:

1. Over-commercialized luxury

The market was saturated with performative fashion — branding louder than meaning. Real craftsmanship and storytelling were fading into the background. I knew we needed a return to essence, where quality, fabric, and purpose lead the conversation.

2. Lack of Lusophone African representation

Angola, though rich in culture, is often left out of the global fashion narrative. Francophone and Anglophone countries dominate the spotlight, while Lusophone stories remain untold. 244 exists to change that, placing Angola and its visual poetry on the global runway.

3. Emotional disconnection in fashion

Too many brands sell aesthetics without soul. But today’s generation — especially within the diaspora — craves meaning. Fashion should help us remember where we come from, not just how to fit in.
